Come swim at Changi Airport Singapore
On a recent trip to Hong Kong, I ended up having a long layover in
Singapore. It wasn’t a long
enough layover to warrant an overnight stay in the beautiful city, but it wasn’t short either. So now I’m stuck in an airport in a foreign country waiting for six hours for the next flight to take me to my final destination. But when I stepped off the plane I was greeted by an airport unlike any other I have seen before.
Beautifully landscaped with a tropical oasis in the center of the airport, a large shopping mall for the shopper at heart and even a movie theater showcasing the latest movie, but what astounded me the most was the advertisements of taking a dip in their swimming pool. After sitting for over fifteen hours on a plane from
Los Angeles the idea of stretching and lounging in a pool in a tropical climate seemed divine.
Something has to be said for this gem of an airport tucked away in
Southeast Asia. The care they take for weary passengers like me is a welcome relief that it almost seems like I’m not in an airport at all waiting six hours for my next flight. A swim in a cool pool is just what I needed before I headed on my way to my next destination.
