The Port City Of Odessa, Ukraine
Odessa is a city on the coast of the Black Sea and it currently boasts over one millions citizens. It was a very important port during the 19th century and through the Soviet era. It is one of the many favored destinations of visitors to Ukraine and with its cosmopolitan atmosphere, the city and its people are very open and warm in public, painting a totally different picture of life in this former Soviet state than what many people around the world know.
The city has a diverse population that is a mixture of European and Russian cultural influences. Most of the people still speak Russian, but Ukrainian and Romanian can be heard on the streets as well. The city has a business cultural events center that include a very active nightlife of discos, nightclubs, restaurants, bars, and cafes as well plenty of daytime activities such as beaches, museums, and other recreation to keep visitors busy while enjoying what Odessa has to offer.
It is very to get in and out of Odessa as its airport offers connection to other Ukrainian cities as well as major cities in Europe and Russia. Overnight trains from Kiev, Kharkov, and Lviv are also available in addition to AutoLux buses from
Kiev and other cities.
